Both Studio North and Studio South offer distinct advantages for different types of shoots due to their unique features:

Wicker Park Studio North

  • Advantage: Soft, bright ambient lighting from north-facing windows, providing gentle illumination ideal for portraits, product photography, or any situation where even lighting is desired.

  • Equipment: Equipped with a huge selection of designer chairs and a vast collection of 9’ seamless paper backdrops, offering versatility and options for creative setups.

Wicker Park Studio South

  • Advantage: Bright, dramatic direct sunlight throughout the day, particularly during early morning and late afternoon, which can create dynamic lighting effects for dramatic or high-energy shoots.

  • Equipment: Hand-painted photo backdrop canvases, adding a touch of artistry and uniqueness to your shots, suitable for fashion shoots, artistic portraits, or themed setups.

When choosing between the two studios, consider the specific requirements and desired aesthetic for your shoot. If you prefer softer, more consistent lighting, Studio North might be the better option. On the other hand, if you're aiming for dramatic lighting or artistic backdrops, Studio South could be the ideal choice.

Apply to be an artist in residences! Free 15 hours in the studio for a month to use however you’d like! tWhen I started taking photography more seriously, one of the bigger hurdles to overcome was finding a space to shoot. This residency program seeks to give photographers opportunity and access to space so that they can bring their art to life, at no cost.

Each month a different artist will receive 15hrs of studio time for the month and access to all available equipment.
